Something new is on its way

OK so I love small business. The idea of someone putting their heart and soul into something that they believe in makes me feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside. I choose small business wherever possible and when that person is someone whom I've met {and scrapped with} all the better. Its so exciting seeing a new kit club coming in March...I know Raquels scrappy style and cant wait to see the kits she puts together.

Gaining some perspective.....

I've been doing A LOT of thinking these past few months. And by a lot I mean a bucket load.

I had a very serious health scare in June..I spent a few days in hospital that culminated with needing emergency surgery and blood transfusions. And I dont know ....being faced with your own mortality {and no I'm not being dramatic} puts a new perspective on things.

Lying in the ER, drifting in and out of conciousness I did not make bargains to "be a better mum, friend, person..." that cliche that you hear so often in the movies...I remember being told "your dying love....we need to operate right away to save your life" and my thoughts were "oh"..not that I've ever thought how this should be, but I kind of expected there to be some truth in THAT cliche..you know where your life runs before your eyes, where you bargain with God and whomever will listen for more time...

But not me..all I could come up with {at that point} was "oh". I remember thinking later "I'm not ready yet". All I could think was I havent seen my babies grow up. My youngest isnt even 3 yet....

suffice to say..apparently I wasnt ready to go.

SO I've been thinking. I have this blog, which I created as part of a challenge many moons ago. I rarely vist scrapping forums anymore. I find all the status updates on facebook tend to be repeated on the forums. I've taken to visitng a few other blogs which I love. Some women write so beautifully. A part of me thinks "I want me some of that". But truth be told I'm busy enough as it is. I have 5 young girls and work part time. I also work as a freelance consultant 3 days per month. Add the mystery shopping I do into the mix and I just dont have time for another business? And when you think about it blogging at the larger scale {I'm talking sponsors and all that jazz} really is a business.

Then my insecurity set in. What if I blog and no one likes it. What if no one wants to read it. But, you know..now I have some perspective I'm OK with that too. I am after all writing this blog for me. Kind of an online diary.

So if anyone is reading it {thankyou}.

I would love to set myself a goal to blog weekly. But I'm not. I'm going to set myself a goal to blog. Thats it. Just blog. And technically if it takes me another 6 months then I havent let myself down :P

On a different note I have been scraping lately and my next post I'll share :)

July already

Where has the year gone? Zooming though way too quickly I think... and I couldnt even tell you where June went..

I cant even remember if I scrapped anything. it just seems a total blur.

July hasnt been much better.... I am the proud owner of this baby

turning a year older has some advantages ;)

I have now decided I NEED a Donna Hay cookbook- one with yummy deserts to make.

We are in our second week of school holdiays here too - we've had a blast and kept busy for the entire time.
{I think I need a break when they go back to school LOL}

I have some other news, too but thats a separate post ;)

Whats in the Box

imagine my excitement when this box was sitting on my front doorstep when I got home last week...
It was the Feb Goodies Box from Coles they send one every quarter to the panelists

Its always so exciting to see whats in the box {as you can see from my little "helpers"}
and ta da!


This months contents did not disappoint.....delicious yummy scrummy goodies that the family enjoyed...

Firsts

thats what this week is full of in my house. Emily and Alyssa started back at school.

Holly started Prep



and got straight into writing her alphabet



and Tegan started swimming lessons.



She was so excited...I could barely get her to look at me :D



Holly has Wednesdays of school for the first few weeks...and I want to take advantage of that to do things with just us {well Tegan and tayla will be there too} They're going to be "holly days" lol.....this week was the Princess and the Frog movie....next week - perhaps the pools?

Scrappy Goodness

This one is for a challenge over at Mystical. I had to use song words in my title. The ultrasound is from pregnancy number 2, back in 2002 I really wanted to do something different scrappy wise - quite happy with how it turned out :D

Big News!

well I'm {kind of} excited about this...



I also feel quite sad at the same time. my baby girl has started walking. She took her first steps December 29th....and I've just uploaded the pics......

not the best - but I captured the moment at least ...

And a HUGE THANKS to everyone who visited me after my last update and left me some love......

A new year

started a little while ago {well 10 days ago to be exact}....and one of my goals was to not neglect my blog. I hope to aim for at least a monthly post. But we'll see how we go.

So far this month we've been to Mornington beach for a swim, and Tooradin foreshore for a picnic lunch. Along with lot of "little' trips to the park. The kids have been having a blast....


And I've remembered to take my camera :D

Well the silly season certainly is full on at the moment....

I cannot believe I'm so disorganised this year. I havent even finished shopping yet alone wrapped asnything.

I have, however scrapped for the Scrap the Girls December challenge.

The theme this month was Christmas - with Christmas carol Lyrics as the title plus

J - Jewels
O - Orange CS
Y - Yellow on the page as well.



I love this page - I think It might become a christmas gift ;)

November is flying past.......

quicker than ever - I really dont feel like I get time to scratch myself nowadays. We are in full concert mode - with the girls dance concert "Snow White" this coming weekend. We have Grandma's and Grandpa's coming from all corners to visit and watch the show. I have been madly sewing costumes for this - and am pretty happy with the outcome...

Obviously, scrapping has had to take a back seat to my sewing. But I have some goodness to share...
